Calon Yn Tyfu

Calon Yn Tyfu / Growing Heart Workers Cooperative operate a saw mill using Douglas Fir from our own woods in West Wales.

About us

We operate a saw mill using Douglas Fir from our own woods in West Wales, selling sawn timber up to 13 metres in length, woodchip and firewood and we are also FRM registered and sell tree seeds throughout the UK.

Calon yn Tyfu translates as Growing Heart and was established as a workers co-operative in 1996. We own and manage Ffynone and Cilgwyn Community Woodlands in West Wales from which we create a range of timber products specialising in cladding including feather edge boards and carcassing for building projects. Thinning the woodland provides firewood and woodchip.

We also supply UK broadleaf tree seeds to major tree nurseries throughout the UK and have planted seed orchards within the woods. As a not for profit organisation all surpluses have been used to develop a community woodland which provides opportunities to bike riders, artists within the amphitheatre area, horse riders, walkers, swimmers and other visitors.

You will shortly be able to get quotes for sawn timber online on our website here: https://www.growingheart.co.uk/ or via email sales@growingheart.co.uk or phone 01239 841675.
